How we work

For Clients

Professionalism and transparency are key to the way we work – supported by structured 'end-to-end' processes and procedures that embrace every aspect of an assignment, from Terms of Business and confidentiality agreements, to service delivery.

With every new opportunity, a senior member of our consultancy team takes full responsibility  for the client and interim manager relationship and the management of every aspect of the assignment. Responsible for all stages of the assignment from initial briefing to the selection, vetting and introduction of interim managers, establishing any terms and conditions; and performance monitoring and reporting.

We never present interim managers without interviewing them first and ensuring they're 'right for the job'. Our comprehensive due diligence process includes the verification of qualifications, reference checking and in-depth interviews designed to test a candidate's competency and personal suitability for a particular interim management role.

Throughout an assignment, we maintain regular contact with the interim manager including – with the client's permission – site visits.

Robust Quality Control measures assist in ensuring the best outcome for our clients who, should they wish, can track our performance and service delivery against agreed stage objectives.

Specialists – not generalists.

To provide our clients with a higher standard of professional service – and enhance our ability to identify the most suitable interim professionals for specific assignments – we have set up dedicated practices, each focused on the particular needs of a discrete sector:

  • Financial Services
  • Healthcare
  • Commerce and Industry (comprising Food and Drink, Manufacturing,
  • Telecommunications, and Transport and Travel)

Over the years, we have acquired in-depth experience and expertise in many other markets – what's more, our interim managers' professional skills are largely, of course, transferable. So, even if your company operates outside the sectors listed above, we can almost certainly be of assistance.

For interim managers

Albemarle Interim Management Limited is the UK's leading company dedicated to providing Interim Management solutions. Highly respected in our marketplace, Albemarle is the first (and often only) port of call for a wide range of private and public sector organisations needing interim assistance - and for interim managers looking for the best opportunities and in-depth professional support from their agency partner.

To date, we have successfully placed interim managers in over 6,000 assignments, and our job board typically features around 120 interim opportunities at any one time. A further measure of our success is the volume of repeat business we are able to offer our interim managers – and the number of projects that are extended by highly satisfied clients.

Building long- term relationships

Recognising that the availability of high quality interim managers is key to our continued business development we are always looking for more talented professions. Once we have identified talent we support and build long term relationships that offer real benefits for all both client and interim manager.

Limited Companies

All Albemarle Interim Managers operate as Limited Companies. This widely accepted industry practice brings professional credibility and differentiates you from the typical temporary worker or sole practitioner.

With Limited Company status, however, come professional responsibilities. In particular, the obligation to commit to, and comply in full with, the objectives and terms of any interim contract you agree to undertake. This in turn provides security for our mutual clients, and helps make 'the interim option' increasingly more attractive to them, helping to secure more repeat business.

As the Managing Director of your own Limited Company, you will need to draw up business plans and marketing strategies, arrange professional indemnity insurance, and perhaps engage the services of an accountant.

To help you prepare to win assignments, we will help you develop a professional résumé specifically for interim applications, and provide guidance on interview techniques for interim posts.

In addition, you may find the independent guidance offered by the Interim Management Association (IMA) www.interimmanagement.uk.com or Professional Contractors Group (PCG) www.pcg.org.uk helpful.
